Dear friends and supporters of Northwick Park Community Garden,
We are in mid-March, and despite the wet and muddy conditions, there's a sense of coming out of hibernation. Spring had arrived a month earlier, and we're filled with hope and possibility for the coming gardening year.
The bulbs we planted in the Station beds in December 2023 have already started to flower, and the green manure seeds we scattered are sprouting and covering the soil. Clovers help fix nitrogen in the soil, while ryegrass and white mustard improve soil structure. It will soon be time to dig in the manure.
We're excited to share a preview of our new station poster designed by our fabulous volunteer, Hina, who works as a graphic designer for the RHS.
Inspired by the sense of Spring arriving, the trustees met to plan some activities for the coming year, some are dog-centred, and all will be important for raising funds for the gardens. Have a look at the News & Events page of this website for dates for your diaries. Hope you can join us.
